1) Don Quixote
Author: Miguel de Cervantes
Full title of part 1 “Don Quixote” and part 2 “Second Part of Don Quixote”, novel published in: part one in 1605 and part two in 1615.
Don Quixote is one of the most widely-read classics of Western literature. Originally conceived as a parody of the chivalric romances that had long been in literary vogue, it realistically describes what happens to an elderly knight who, confused by the reading of such romances, embarks on his old horse Rocinante, with his pragmatic squire, Sancho Panza, to seek adventure.

2) The Metamorphosis
Author: Franz Kafka
One of Kafka’s best-known works, The Metamorphosis tells the story of the salesman Gregor Samsa who wakes up one morning to find himself inexplicably transformed into a huge insect (ungezures from the German Ungeziefer, literally “monstrous vermin”). Samsa, upon finding himself in this new condition, subsequently decides to struggle to adapt to this new way of life.
The novel has become one of the world’s literary classics, and as such has been widely discussed among literary critics, with different interpretations offered.

3) Great Expectations
Author: Charles Dickens
Great Expectations is one of the most famous titles of the great English author. Originally published in 1860, it tells the story of Pip, an orphaned and fearful young man, whose humble destiny is graced by an unexpected benefactor who will change the fate of his life and make him a gentleman.
A wonderful novel of apprenticeship and a masterful gallery of protagonists who draw a finished portrait of the period, at the same time as a deep reflection on the constants of the human condition.
The reality of everyday life in England and fantasy go hand in hand, showing us an extraordinarily human and detailed world and the peculiar psychology of the characters.
