Sign language is the natural language of the deaf. It includes visual perception, gestural and spatial configuration, as well as the expression of ideas within their social environment. It consists of body, hand, eye, mouth and facial movements.
Hearing impaired people are its main users, but there are also other people who learn it because they are part of the deaf environment, as well as some people with linguistic or cognitive disorders and some monks who take vows of silence.
The sign language is not of a single type, nowadays it has diversified and several modalities are used in different countries and they are distinguished from each other both in their grammar and in their lexicon and they come from the sign languages of Germany, France, Great Britain, among others. In many countries it is considered a language of its own.
